National Bologna Day - Oct. 24

21st Oct 2013

National Bologna Day is October 24 and it's a pretty important holiday for Hermann Wurst Haus.  We love Bolgona.  Come by for free samples of German Bologna and Sweet Peppered Bologna on Thursday!

No one really knows the origins of National Bologna Day but who cares.  It is a reason to celebrate this tasty creation and we need to celebrate something everyday!

We make several varieties of Bologna:

German Bologna - A traditional German Bologna, made with beef and pork and seasoned with garlic and spices.  We make this as our German ancestors did.

Sweet Lebanon Bologna - We make this sweet sausage using lean beef, spices and a touch of sugar.  It is then hung in our smokehouse and smoked to perfection.   This varietry originated in Lebanon County, PA and was created by the Pennsylvania Dutch in the 1800's.

Sweet Peppered Bologna - Our newest variety of Bologna, it has a touch of sweetness to balance the black pepper flavors.

Try our gourmet bolognas on sandwiches, sliced for snacks or cubed and added to salads.  Enjoy with a Wurst Haus Beer or a glass of one of Hermann's local wines.

Cheers!
