Score a "touchdown" at your party with this bacon and cheese dip!
½ cup mayonnaise
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 green onions, finely chopped
Pinch of cayenne pepper
8-10 butter crackers (we like Ritz Crackers)
8 slices Hermann Wurst Haus Hickory-Smoked Bacon, cooked and crumbled
For perfectly crisp Hermann Wurst Haus bacon, bake in the oven. Arrange bacon in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place in cold oven and then turn oven to 400°F and bake for 17-20 minutes. Remove from the oven when the bacon is golden brown and crisp. Drain on paper towels. Crumble and set aside.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions and cayenne pepper. Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish or a pie plate. Top mixture with cracker crumbs and bake for 15 minutes, or until heated through.
Remove from the oven and top with Hermann Wurst Haus grand champion hickory-smoked bacon. Serve immediately, with buttery crackers, corn chips or bagel chips.
