National Scrapple Day - November 9

8th Nov 2013

The Hermann Wurst Haus likes to celebrate food holidays and Saturday November 9th is National Scrapple Day!  In honot of this prestigious but unknown holiday, we will be serving free in house made old style Dutch Scrapple sandwiches with the works.  Just mention National Scapple Day or describe your favorite scrapple moment!

What is scrapple?  It is a mid-Atlantic delicacy, first created by the Pennsylvania Dutch over 200 years ago.  Scrapple was made from "scraps" that were left after a pig was butchered.  The meat bits were combined with spices for flavor and cornmeal for texture.  It was made into loafs, sliced and griddled and traditionally served for breakfast with eggs and potatoes.

Today, at Hermann Wurst Haus we make Scrapple in the traditional way and have created a scrapple sandwich that is one of Wurstmeiser Mike's favorites!

Come in and try this old world delicacy with a Hermann Wurst Haus brew!  Or order and have it shipped to your front door!  Order here.
