Finochiona and Soppressata Salamis are Ready!

9th Sep 2013

Wurstmeister Mike has created Hermann Wurst Haus Finocchiona and Sopressata salamis that Italians would be proud of.  We know our eager customers are awaiting these new items and we are happy to announce they will be released this Saturday, Sept. 7!  Be the first to experience these Italian treats in Hermann, Missouri.

Finocchiona is a Tuscan salami, whose name comes from "finocchio" or fennel, which is used to flavor the pork used to make this sausage.  Legend says that a Tuscan peasant boy stole a fresh salami and hid it in a wild fennel field.  When he returned for it, it had absorbed the fennel aromas.  A Tuscan favorite, it's dry-cured to develop its rich aroma, the fennel seeds and other spices add layers of flavor to the creamy sausage.

Soppressata is the most well known of the Italian salamis, a naturally air-dried Italian dry salami.  A flavorful, robust salami, made with ground pork, seasoned with paprika, black pepper, red pepper, black peppercorns, other spices and red wine!

These rich salamis are delicious as a quick snack, on an antipasti plate, perfect with flavorful cheeses, and served with robust Hermann wines and Hermann Wurst Haus Beers.
Both are shelf-stable, no refrigeration required and only available in-store at this time.
