Celebrate National Pigs-in-a-Blanket Day at Wurst Haus
Posted by Patty Held on 12th Apr 2014
The Hermann Wurst Haus couldn't be happier with National Pigs-in-a-Blanket Day on Thursday, April 24. It gives us another food holiday to create something special with our products. Who doesn't have memories from their childhood of these tasty little snacks.
Here are some fun facts about Pigs-in-a-Blanket around the world:
- In the United Kingdom, they wrap small sausages in bacon. (Hmmm...we love to wrap sausage in bacon at the Wurst Haus!)
- In Israel, they wrap miniature sausages in ketchup covered puff pastry.
- In the United States, hot dogs or Vienna sausages are wrapped in biscuit or croissant dough.
It doesn't matter how you fix them, they are good! How about whipping some up tonight or even better, stop by the Wurst Haus and try our spicy version.
On Thursday April 24th, we are featuring our "Pig-in-a-Blanket in Heat Special" (Bratwurst with Pepperjack cheese, jalapenos, and monster house sauce) with chips-pickle for $6.99.
It doesn't get any better than that on a Thursday....unless you add a Wurst Haus frosty beer with it!
