Celebrate National Cherry Dessert Day at the Hermann Wurst Haus
Posted by Patty Held on 5th May 2014
Do you like cherry cheesecake? National Cherry Dessert Day is May 26 to honor this flavorful fruit that is so tasty in pies, cobblers, cheesecake, and tarts.
History of cherries:
The cherry tree goes back to the Stone Age, as documented by historians, from the pits that were found in European caves. In the 1600's, early settlers to the United States, brought cherry trees. Today, Michigan provides around 75% of the U.S. supply of tart cherries.
To honor this food holiday, Miss Lynette has whipped up her special Cherry Cheesecake Delight, one of her signature desserts.
